From the table to the operation: What CX Day Bogotá taught us about applied AI
There's a moment in every conversation about artificial intelligence when the theory has to prove itself. At CX Day Bogotá, Collab decided to run a bootcamp that made that moment come fast: in a single three-hour session, attendees stopped talking about AI and started building it.
The CX Day Practical Workshop "AI Applied to Business: Design a Virtual Agent in 3 Hours" took place on Thursday, July 16, at the Hotel NH Collection Bogotá World Trade Center. It brought Collab together with BPrO, the Asociación Colombiana de BPO, celebrating its 25th anniversary, around one deceptively simple idea. Rather than a lecture, it was a hands-on challenge. And the participants took it on, designing a fully functional Virtual Agent from scratch before the session was over.
Knowledge that changes hands
The energy in the room came from the people sharing it. Collab's CTO, Tiago Simões, and Chief Sales Officer, Miguel Noronha, and Regional Sales Manager, Rodrigo Mendez, guided attendees step by step through the technology, showing how virtual agents integrate natively into existing operations, how AI fits inside a commercial strategy, and what all of this means for BPO competitiveness across Latin America.
The best line of the day came afterward, from Recupera SAS: "The knowledge is on the table. The challenge now is to execute it." That captures the whole point.
Where AI actually creates value
AI doesn't generate value in a slide deck. It generates value when it enters the daily operation with humans in the loop and concrete use cases driving it. The workshop made that tangible: participants didn't leave with a concept, they left with something they had built with their own hands.
The path forward is just as practical. Start with one use case. Prove value quickly. Expand from there. Organizations that treat AI as a single, all-or-nothing transformation tend to stall; the ones that pick a focused problem, ship a working solution, and iterate are the ones that pull ahead.
For the BPO sector in Latin America, that discipline is becoming a competitive edge. Applied AI is no longer a differentiator reserved for the largest players, it's a lever any operation can pull, provided it starts.
Ready to build
A special acknowledgment to every participant who accepted the challenge and turned a three-hour workshop into real, working technology. The knowledge is on the table and the best way to keep going is to start building.
